Re: Warranty and coronavirus

Is that the 10k Service? It basically involves opening the bonnet counting to 10 and shutting it then kicking the tyres. You can go elsewhere of you want. Or take a screen shot of the dealers website to confirm you have been prevented from having the Scheduled service and book it in for when they re...

Re: Flat battery

Bad luck, it took 20,000 miles and 15 months for the 12v battery on my EV to fail. I did not realise there is an issue with the Hybrid. Anyway the answer is a device like this, gets rid of the jump leads, these devices do not need a donor vehicle and can get the car started in minutes. They are smal...

Re: ALL-NEW HYUNDAI KONA ELECTRIC

When I come off at a motorway junction and down the ramp I use regenerative braking. So for instance if I reckon the lights will be red when I get to the roundabout I can slow and gently roll up to the lights anticipating green using just the steering wheel regen paddles without touching the brake p...

Re: ALL-NEW HYUNDAI KONA ELECTRIC

I took my car in for the software update as per an email request from Hyundai, to be told that the software is upto date! Still, I got a free valet and safety check. Interesting that after 5,000 miles the brakes are barely worn, 5% worn, so potential for well over 50,000 miles lifespan? The regenera...

Re: ALL-NEW HYUNDAI KONA ELECTRIC

Just noted a post from AEB-UK from last month, doozy me, sorry for not replying. The 2hr 10mins to recharge to 80% was from about 63% if my memory serves. 17% of capacity to do a round trip of 40 miles. 17% is about 10kw of battery capacity which at 4 miles per Kw drives 40 miles. 4 miles per kw is ...

My car is booked in at dealer for a software update next week. It will be interesting to see what this will bring. Anyone else had this?

Re: New kid on the block, UK

Welcome, I have had my Kona 64kw in the same colour as yours since mid September and have covered 4,000 miles so far. I have noticed the range decrease as the weather cools. I have had solar PV for 7 years now. They can just about cope with base load in December and January but once we get longer da...

Re: Test Drive

Could be worse, you could be waiting for a Kia Niro EV. Should be a good car but not even available for order yet. I prefer the looks of the Kona and love it.
