Re: 2021 Kona EV VESS ?
I think an external sound is a standard feature that can't be turned off. It isn't loud, but ours (a mid 2021 model) clearly makes an electrical humming noise until around 20mph. It isn't loud enough to alert cyclists or talking pedestrians.

Re: Speed Limiter?
We have now had the operation of the speed limiter checked by a main dealer at the annual service - apparently it is operating correctly, i.e it doesn't limit the speed, just bongs and bongs and bongs. Useless. Have the guys at Hyundai ever tried a competitor car....or even one of their own non-elec...

Re: Questionable Software!
Hi baldbeardie,
I assume from the lack of input from Hyundai that they don't have anyone checking or reading these pages. A bit odd but I guess they don't care or believe they can get anything from the chat. I'm afraid it just adds to my sense of dissatisfaction with the car.

Re: New Kona EV - Carpet mats?
Hi QPRfan,
we were 'gifted' a set of mats when we bought our Kona Ultimate. As a general rule, I don't think they come as a standard fit.

Re: Questionable Software!
Hi Baldbeardie, Welcome to my world of frustration with the Kona software. I can only believe that the software designers have 1) never driven a competitor car and/or 2) don't drive the end product. Question for you, does your speed limit function work as a 'hard' speed limiter or simply cause (yet ...

Re: Won’t charge to 300 miles
Hi. We have found our Kona range is very dependant on two things, driving style/road speed and air temperature. During the winter, the range estimate has varied between 225 and 265 miles. Last summer, we saw predicted range of as much as 310 miles, but we had also been doing relatively short journey...

Re: Another Cruise Control Fault
Hi, is it possible that your car is adjusting to an incorrect speed limit? We have noticed that our car has identified strange speed limits (non existent!) on a number of local roads. For example, we have one stretch of road where the limit is 40mph for a three or four mile stretch. Part way along t...

Re: Reversing outside noise on electric Kona
I have done a brief investigation and can find no way of turning the noise off. I'm in the same position and would like to be able to move the car silently at times. If you discover a way to enable this, please post the details. Cheers.

Re: Speed Limiter?
Thanks KoolKona EV. I agree, letting the car slow itself and even stop had me with my foot held above the brake pedal - I haven’t got completely used to it yet. I want the limiter to work as we have been used to using it on another car, where it is foolproof. I am a tad concerned about the tech on t...

Re: Speed Limiter?
I’m assuming we have a fault then. Our car will accelerate through the set speed (a slight hesitation) but proceeds to an audible alert only. A non-electric Hyundai we borrowed had what I was expecting, a complete reluctance to accelerate beyond the limit set. Back to the dealership or does anyone k...
