Re: Cold Start Engine 'rattle' (1.0)

As you can see this has been a long going story but it appears that alot of the fault may be to timing chain cover - where there is not enough clearance between chain and cover. My thoughts are to make sure they replace the cover as well as the chain and tensioner. Thou most of the concerns are rela...

Re: Low fuel warning

From my experience in the motor trade the fuel low level warning light is controlled by the tank unit;. So the recommendation to me would be to remove the tank unit from the tank and manually operate the float and if the light still does not operate then one will have to check out at the dash end. I...

Re: Latest Uk Map version

What I can from other people is that the dealers hold updated SD cards in the Service Dept and just swap them over and then possible update yours for somebody else.

Re: Replacing headlight bulbs

Sorry for delay but the canbus kit is a kit which has to be fitted along with the LED bulbs to prevent dash warning light coming on. Fitting LED lights with canbus kit you will have to change the bulb covers etc. etc. Plus if you are in UK beware you you are only allowed up to a certain lumen rating...

Re: Cold Start Engine 'rattle' (1.0)

Hi moonwalker. My Kona 1.0ltr is now !yr old and due its !st service next month and covered only 3500mls. I carried out an oil / filter change myself at 6mths using genuine parts. Not having the grinding noises that you and Bert experienced I do get very intermittently the rattle from the timing cha...

Re: Reverse light

In the UK you have one reverse light on n/s and one rear fog light on the o/s.
It's a shame as my previous Hyundai ix20 had 2 & 2.

Re: Cold Start Engine 'rattle' (1.0)

Bart I thought you had already got your replacement - as in a previous message you were going to try it from cold after standing for the weekend. But sounds like that did not work out. I bet your finding the difference with a "old" BMW - so uncomfortable things plus seating is so low. Cert...

Re: Cold Start Engine 'rattle' (1.0)

Moonwalker I have only done 3000mls since new and have only done a few long trips up to Scotland & Yorkshire and have not used any oil at all.
So really I can't help much.

Re: Cold Start Engine 'rattle' (1.0)

Hello Sinflobod from another Essexite (Colchester). Just a matter of interest how many miles has yours done? Did they replace the cover as well as the chain and tensioner? I am keeping my fingers crossed as mine is only 6mths old and done about 3000mls and no problems at present but concerned what's...
