I'm sorry, this may sound stupid. How do I know if the DRL is off or on when I'm in the driver's seat?

Check the reflection in the car in front is generally what you can do.
The DRL's if I am right are LED's so the current consumption when the stop start is active is negligible.
And so will be the heat. LED's produce very small amounts of heat.
Its another bizarre thing Hyundai do.
They seem to have these 'things' they do on their vehicles.
Like:
Folding mirrors (not Kona) that only fold in with a button on the inside of the vehicle?
Not having folding mirrors on a KONA?
No electric parking brakes
Only having one auto up and down window on the Kona is odd as on a lower spec iX20 both front windows are auto.
A very annoying red warning that you are using the battery when ignition is off for about 10 seconds!!!

Cheers

I've also noticed that they remain on when the handbrake is applied and the headlights are switched on, and when indicating, the DRL next to the indicating light will turn off, while the other one remains on.
