to get back to the subject, I have trouble closing the boot - sometime I drive off and I get the dashboard warning that it is not fully closed, just on the first catch. Boot = trunk! A problem is if it is half closed the car will seem to lock, but the boot light will stay on until the battery runs down about 20 hours later.

Yes I know of a case in the uk. Go to youtube. And search for this guy. The EV Puzzle. He will tell you all about your problem and the easy fix along with lot of other info.

Hi... we have just bought a new 1.6 kona, and its been a great car, but we too, have a problem with the boot..
we really have to slam it and keep our weight on it, for it to close properly..
so we took it back to the dealer, and they have allegedly replaced the latch..but the boot still seems the same !!
so i rang the dealer this morning, to explain the issue, and he admitted, that there is an issue with the boot latch..
but, there isnt a fix for it at the moment!!..
great !!

The cure identified above, tightening the two rubber buffers worked for me, shame dealers don’t know....
