Smart Cruise Control

I'm new to this site and am looking for some info, please. I have had a test drive in a Kona Hybrid and loved it. I took a day to consider whether to place an order. I looked on forums/facebook/redit and there is mention of concerns with the smart cruise control. Seemingly it can slow down and speed up and even shoot the car forward. It can be very (embarrassing) slow to speed up again when a car in front of you moves out of the way. Many posts refer to this, but they are fairly old posts and I am trying to find out whether this concern still exists in the new Kona. Has anyone else heard of this?

I have a 2023 model and it does seem a bit erratic at times but I don't mind as the cruise control is very simple to use compared to my previous car.
