New Version- views on new style design Kona 2024

Hi all. Returned to this forum after 7 year gap, last Hyundia was I30 which I loved. Went across to Kia for Hybrid Niro but plan to buy the Kona EV since it is now same size as my Niro inside anyway.
My only issues are the 'lines along the sides' make it seem fat and a bit podgy or am I seeing it wrongly plus the front layout with the charge port off to once side looks odd to me plus the headlights seem awfully vulnerable to poor Parking vans etc!
I prefer the design and look of the Volvo EX30 which to be honest looks fantastic inside and out but is quite cramped particularly in the back compared to the Kona. Do you think the screen only controls on cars like the Volvo and Tesla's are as potentially dangerous as some critics think?
